Support for Families During “The Wait”

Families with Children from China, East Tennessee, connects waiting families with each other for common support and education. This group provides information on many of the ins and outs of the adoption process and waiting period through discussion groups, social activities, and informative speakers (on topics such as attachment and bonding, packing for China, and the re-adoption process).
 
The Waiting Family Group meets monthly on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. until noon at the West Knoxville Branch, Knox County Library, 100 Golf Club Road, at the intersection of Kingston Pike and Papermill Road. (The location may change for social gatherings.)
 
Waiting families who join FCC-ET and pay the annual membership dues are also invited and encouraged to attend our other events such as Chinese New Year, the Dragon Boat Festival, the Moon Festival, and other activities, to get better acquainted with more families. 2009 Calendar

Waiting Families Group,

I am writing in inform everyone, our waiting families and other families, that we (FCC-ET Board) are temporarily suspending waiting families group meetings.

Over the past years, the wait times for referrals have increased and meeting participation has decreased.

That is not to say that there will be no support for our waiting families, just not with regular meetings. You are encouraged to join all of our FCC functions, they are a great opportunity to meet and socialize with other families.

If anyone every needs anything, please feel free to contact me or any other FCC-ET family and we will be happy to help in any way we can.
